EMERGE Plan of Action
-
Global Health Research
Advocate for funding and mentorship for student-led global health research projects related to our mission. In the future, we hope to host an EMERGE Conference, showcasing student research and innovative projects focused on medicine, global health, and technology.
-
International Implementation
We plan to translate our findings into actionable projects in areas that are in the most critical need. We hope to utilize technology to bring the decision-making power of multi-tier institutions to community health centers and regions that lack centralized care delivery systems.
-
Medical School Chapters
We plan to initiate additional EMERGE chapters at medical schools, offering medical students unique opportunities in global health research and impact-creation.
-
Speaker Symposiums
We aim to build increasing connections with leaders in the field and collaborations with academic institutions, both domestically and internationally. Through this, we hope to promote cross-institution research and increase the global student knowledge fund.
-
Think-Tanks
Through our national organization as well as our medical school chapter, we’ll foster an environment of innovative problem solving. We will discuss technology advancements and their potential in medicine with a focus on solving global health predicaments. We aim to promote evidenced-based exploration of the potential of technology to address world health disparities.
-
Global Health Hackathons
We hope to develop our own global health and technology hackathon. This event will serve as an ecosystem for problem solving, idea creation, and promote the cross-disciplinary skills of coding, machine learning, and research development that are core to our mission.
